Speak LIFE!

Mark 5:28 (ESV)

Believe and Say

28 For she said, “If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.”

The story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-34 teaches among other things, how desperate faith brings about deliverance in an otherwise hopeless situation.

Do you have a situation that seems impossible to resolve?  Do you have a stigma on your life – something that causes you to be humiliated? Perhaps not! There are far too many people in our domain that have been so conditioned by deficiencies – so much that the deficiencies now appear normal.

This piece is for those who are sick and tired of being sick and tired! – Those who have realized that ONLY GOD can bring them through their situation. This is for those who need breakthrough NOW!

The woman with the issue of blood had an incurable disease!  What was it that gave this woman the audacity to believe all she needed to do was to touch the garments of the LORD and become healed?

Here are some things to glean from this story:

  1. She never lost hope! She was afflicted for 12 years!  The doctors could not cure her! We wonder why she had not given up hope.  Surely one would expect that she would be conditioned by her condition and accepted the deviation as her lot in life.  Q. What about you? Have you given up hope concerning your afflictions or challenges?
  2. She believed in her heart that the LORD would heal her! Oh, if she can only reach and touch Him! Q. Do you even believe that reaching GOD will cause your breakthrough? Unfortunately, so many things have affected our faith and we do not always believe our deliverance is in Christ.
  3. She spoke out – what she believed.  She said “If only I can touch his garment, I will be healed!” Her speaking gave life to her faith.  Her confession brought possession!  This is a very powerful principle that has mostly been neglected in the church today.  See Rom 10:9-10.

  4. She overcame her fear and took a risk! She was ceremonially unclean because of the disease – she had to announce she was unclean whenever around other people and had to avoid touching anything in order not to make the thing unclean – see Lev 15:25. Q. What was it that allowed her to risk even death as she pressed through the crowd?  She could have been easily stoned by those she contaminated! This is real faith!
  5. She overcame the weakness in her body! Was greatly weakened because of her disease and would normally not have as much energy to press through a crowd that was also trying to get to the LORD for a blessing.
  6. Was desperate and took action – It was obvious that no one else could help except the LORD.  Q. Are we desperate enough to start to make a move toward GOD or we still want to wait or perhaps wallow in self?
  7. Working faith! Her touch was different! Of all the people around the LORD, it was her touch that provoked the flow of virtue out of Him.  This touch was different! It was urgent, demanding and faith filled.

Take stock

So take stock today.  Take responsibility for the results you are experiencing in life.  It is true that some things happen to us that are out of our control but we also must agree that the majority of thing we face on a daily basis are due to things we may have appropriated in our lives.   So take a look at the results you are seeing and contrast that with what you have been speaking.  There is clear correspondence between what people say and the lives they live!

The tongue

We learn that the power of life and death is in the tongue. Prov 18:21. In addition, we must keep our tongues from speaking evil if we desire to see good days and love the lives we live. 1 Pet 3:10

Creation

Remember that GOD created the heavens and the earth through the spoken word! Gen 1:3, 2 Pet 3:5

GOD made us in His image and likeness and has enabled us to also have this ability to create through our speech.  As a matter of fact, throughout scripture we can see that GOD chose men whom he would cause to speak out His word over situations in order to bring about a manifestation of that spoken work.  Eze 37:1-5. He commanded and inspired certain prophets to speak blessings or even speak judgment over the nations.  Eze 6:2 Fact: God intends man to speak that which is of faith (in GOD) in order for Him to bring that word to pass.  This is the exact working of Spirit-led prophesy! The word of the LORD spoken through faith that always comes to manifestation. See also Acts 5:20, Jer. 23:28-29

This is also the reason why we pray the word of GOD. Praying what GOD has decreed in faith ALWAYS produces results!  This is why a prayer-less Christian is typically powerless in Christ.

Here are some action plan points:

Make up your mind that you ALWAYS speak life not death!

God has not called you to be a journalist

The plan of the enemy is to cause you to curse yourself, your spouse, family… we sometimes fall for the trap and of course the credit goes to the enemy!

Feed your spirit and mind with the Word

Our minds need to be renewed! Rom 12:2 We understand that our victory or defeat first begins in the mind. Also realize that you become a product of what you focus on – So think positively! Phil 4:8.

The plan of the enemy is to invade our senses, reprogram our minds and cause us to declare out of the abundance of our hearts that which will actually cause our defeat.

In other words, we are not defeated until we provide confirmation through our speaking. Luke 6:45, Prov. 4:23

Become a person of prayer

Pray the word without ceasing!  That will ensure that you are always thinking of GOD in your speech and continue to speak His word!

All believers also need to commit to praying for each other speaking life – the blessings of the LORD always.  (This is why the enemy fights authentic ministries – particularly those with strong fellowship and discipleship)

Remain observantRemain sober and vigilant.  1 Pet 5:8 Understand that the enemy will not want you to practice any of these things and he continues to distract and tempt us relentlessly.  We must remain in GOD’s secret place in order to thrive in this life.  Take heed!

Take a moment

Take a moment now to renounce any negative word you have spoken over your life or the life of others around you.  Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you.  Remember the power of life is in your tongue.

Now speak blessings over yourself, your family, others in your sphere of influence and even your church!

God Bless you richly!

From Death to Life

From Death to Life

Romans 8:1-2

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

.

For so many years, the whole process of my maturation in Christ has been based on my ability to die to self.  I typically focus on everything that is out of place in my life and often feel “just not good enough” and have to keep trying harder!  I could not read enough of the Word, pray enough, love enough and the list goes on.  As a result of this disposition, I have been taken advantage of by others who quickly latch on and pile on more items on top of my already brimming cup.  It is amazing to see how quickly people judge us as we fall short of their standards.  We tell ourselves that what others think does not matter but subconsciously note the reported shortcomings and try to fix things.  Unfortunately, others notice and take advantage. Have you experienced this as well?

Now, we have to ask ourselves: How is it that we say we have given our lives to the LORD and yet still have so much we keep holding on to?  We believe GOD is in control of our lives and even proclaim that the “deep calls the deep” and yet we conduct ourselves as if it all depends on us.  These words may seem simple but there is a depth yet to be explored in this matter.  Apostle Paul tells the Church in Philippe that believers need to work out their salvation with fear and trembling but yet it is GOD who wills in them to do His pleasure. Philippians 2:12-13.  It sounds like, on one hand it is up to us and on the other hand, it is up to GOD.  Yet, the real meaning of the scripture is that the work GOD was doing in us is what results in our response to allow the work of salvation in our lives. After all, “Salvation belongs to the LORD!”  We can never procure our salvation. Nothing can make us qualify except the grace of GOD at work in us all.

So then, it is definitely not expedient to continue to wallow in the “not good enough” line of reasoning. Do we really believe what Christ has done for us?  Christ has set us free from condemnation!  Even the accuser of the brethren has been cast down! Rev 12:10.  We are free indeed!  And it is the Spirit of Life (not death) that has set us free.  Death is done away with!

1 Corinthians 15:54c-57
“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

So, I as a believer can no longer make death-to-self my indicator of progress.  Believers are called to become born-again and cross from death to life.  So death-to-self is only a tool that helps us to be positioned into our life-in-Christ location.  In actuality, what I do is I consciously give up my will each day in order to gain Christ afresh.  The objective is not the giving up of my will but my gaining Christ. I keep up this transaction each day until I receive an incorruptible body and I  myself have attained resurrection from the dead.  So, my goal is not the crucifixion of my flesh but the resurrection of my soul.  To me, the cross is an instrument of death, the empty grave a revelation of new life.

As believers, we must realize that our faith is totally in vain if Christ only died and never rose again.  Perhaps it is time we become more determined to celebrate the resurrection of our LORD everyday and not just at Easter.  This is the very heart of the Gospel.  Not only that Christ died for us but that He rose again from the dead so we too can rise again when we die.  The empty tomb becomes our new symbol – no longer the man on the cross.  Let’s face it, maybe this is one of the reasons why the world has failed to latch on to our message of life as they should.

Also consider this: In Him (Christ) is Life and that is the light of men that shines and overwhelms darkness.  John 1:4.  Because of our focus on life, we keep reaching out, shining the light of the LORD through the darkness that is seems quite pervasive in this world.  We continue to illumine the glory of the LORD in this manner as we see so many souls saved and the kingdom of heaven properly established on earth.

Beloved, let us remain in light as we have passed from death to life.

God Bless!

Deep Spring Cleaning

March 10th, 2012 No comments

Genesis 35:2 (ESV)Household

2 So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you and purify yourselves and change your garments.

Jacob originally erected a pillar to the Lord at Bethel and vowed to the Lord that He would be his God if he preserves him and the stone will become God’s house.  He changed the name of the place from Luz to Bethel. Gen 28:10-22.

Through the years, Jacob sees the hand of God in his life as he eventually makes peace with Esau (his twin brother), marries Rachel and Leah and exits from Laban successfully with blessings.   However, it seems the household of Jacob also became polytheistic (worshiped God and the gods from Laban’s household).  God gets Jacob to return to Bethel and it is interesting to note that Jacob sees the importance of properly cleansing his household before completely surrendering to the Lord. Jacob then erects an altar to the Lord and receives the invocation of the blessings of Abraham with the charge to be fruitful, and multiply becoming a nation – Israel.

This is what should happen to us (believers) today:  We believe and give our lives to God have to rid ourselves of idols and our carnality (sinful ways).  This allows us to properly enter into covenant with the Lord and see blessings of the Lord consistently overflow in our lives even in the face of extreme opposition.

Spring cleaning

Spring is in the air and God is asking ALL believers at this time to begin deep cleaning of their households.  It is time to thoroughly clean out the junk in our lives that hinder us from fully experiencing Christ and His blessings in our lives.

Christians, especially in the civilized world have grown weaker and weaker over time and we have allowed too much worldly influence in our lives.  It has become so difficult to really sell-out to Christ. (After all, isn’t this what is required in order to establish Covenant with God?).  Part of the problem is the way people are introduced to Christ.  Simply saying a prayer will not cut it!  There has to be an exchange at the altar. We give God our old lives in exchange for His eternal life.

So we must resolve to stop merely keeping up appearances where all seems well on the outside but things are really chaotic on the inside. As a matter of fact, we need to stop now and ask, “who are we really impressing”?  The truth is that God Almighty is the one who holds the keys to our future.  He is the one who delivers us and blesses us.  He is ever faithful and always fulfills His promises.  God has promised, sworn and decreed blessings to the seed of Abraham – those who are in Christ!  Gal 3:29Spring Cleaning

Start preparing for garage / yard sales. We are going to look in the nooks and crannies of our homes and lives and clean-up any gunge and filth we find.   There is no need to wait any longer.  There is overwhelming evidence of the need to see breakthrough everywhere. Do we need to consider the evidence for motivation?

Do you experience persistent spiritual lethargy, heaviness and depression at home (sometimes outside) that causes you to lose self-control developing the need to self-medicate every now and then (or frequently).  Is there evidence of fear, frequent unexplained sickness, nightmares (especially children), contention in the home, sexual immorality, sense of poverty, or even general lack of order? You are trying to be spiritual but really cannot – especially once you get home.  Did you give your life to Christ and it seems like life has become much worse for you?

What is happening is that you are dealing with forces that are trying to overrun you! John 10:10.  You are dealing with evil spirits that have an assignment to ensure you do not get God’s help and are defeated! Ephesians 6:10.

Do we even realize that our home is our sanctuary? We must be victorious at home in order to be victorious outside. It is what happens in our homes that sets the tone for our society.  This is why marriages and families are under heavy spiritual attack!

Enemy Attacks

In all of this, we need to consider that there are some things that break or hinder us from continuing to enjoy the manifestations of blessings as we progress through life. These are sometimes things that are hidden from us and we wonder why we strive spiritually and yet not see to prevail against the enemy.  Whether we know it or not, the enemy gains access to our lives and homes when we or others unknowingly or knowingly give place to the enemy.  Eph. 4:27

Yes, let us mature are even begin to realize that we are all born on a battle field and have to gain stronger spiritual intelligence in order to conquer the enemy and remain victorious.  The number one area to watch for is Rebellion! This is especially lethal when involved with Idolatry (the worship of other things ahead of God).  This is true whether we knowingly rebel against God or not.    This is what allows the enemy to gain legal access into our lives even though he is really a defeated foe.  Col 2:15, 2 Cor. 3:4-5

Before we go further, ask yourself the question: “Am I really committed to obeying the word of God?”  If your answer is hazy or mixed with doubt, know that you are likely in rebellion – whether deliberately or not.

Here are some specific areas to watch for so we can know how to take action:

1.      Defilement of the land

The children of Israel suffered a plague when they began to whore after the Moabite and Midian gods and began to yoke with them.  God then allowed a plague that started with the killing of the chiefs of the people and in total about 24000 Israelites lost their lives! The plague was only stopped when the priests took control and all the offenders were eradicated!

Question: Are we really sure the land we live on is cleansed?

2.      Keeping dead things

Under no circumstance can we keep what has been devoted to darkness.  (This is perhaps the most serious point to consider in this discourse).   Consider the story of the Israelites in Joshua 7.  Israel just finished their first major conquest as they formally entered the Promised Land.  The wall of Jericho tumbled; the people of Jericho were badly defeated; Israel knew the hand of God had procured their victory.  Of course all the other nations occupying the land became terrified – after all this was God’s army.  The next place to conquer was Ai.  Ai was going to be easy.

Israel lunged for Ai, with a reduced force but was shocked to experience defeat!  36 men died before they retreated. What happened?

What happened was God was no longer fighting for them and they did not even know it – they went out presumptuous and got a rude awakening.  Does this not happen to us today?  Many believers continue to press forward, get defeated, make excuses, and blame others still not realizing the simple truth that God was just no longer fighting for them.  This is one of the main areas where many depart from the Christian faith.

God told the Israelites that they had sinned!  After investigations, they realized that it was really only one man; Achan, who sinned by keeping some the spoils of war from Jericho that were devoted to destruction.Bonfire

It is a major sin to not destroy what God has already designated for destruction.  This was why Saul was rejected by God for not utterly destroying the Amalekites. 1 Sam 15:1-23.

What about us? Have we completely cleansed our dwelling places of the things devoted to destruction?  Anything that is directly of evil origin must be destroyed!

3.      Sins of others

It is totally possible that the sins of a member of a household could cascade to affecting others in the household if action is not taken. Remember the story of how Israel was initially defeated at Ai because of one man! Achan Josh 7

THE SIN OF ACHAN CAUSED HIS ENTIRE HOUSEHOLD INCLUDING THE AMINALS TO BE STONED TO DEATH! Josh. 7:24-25.

4.      Ungodly soul ties

An ungodly soul tie is really an illicit covenant that displeases God.  This is one of the most severe issues affecting the world today.  What we call freedom has allowed different types of wrong relationships to form and many remain bound to the consequences of those wrong relationships even though they already gave themselves to Christ.

Samson had an ungodly soul tie with Delilah.

All ungodly relationships must be completely severed!  Period!

5.      Attachment to physical things or people

This is basically giving physical things spiritual significance – a form of idolatry.  Yet we realize that God will not allow light to yoke with darkness. 1 Cor. 10:14-20

To make this plain, anything or person we replace God with as a source of wellbeing is an idol.   We cannot have good luck charms, clothing, rosary beads, specific jewelry and even other items like crucifixes.  A crucifix, whether Christ is on or off does not save!  It is Jesus Christ who saves.  Mary the mother of Jesus was blessed but NOT the savior!  Too many people all over the world (including apparently strong Christians) have mixed in superstitions and traditions with Christianity in a syncretic mixture and what has resulted is no longer pure.  Let us remember that Jesus Christ our Lord is returning soon for His bride, a church without spot, wrinkle or blemish! Eph. 5:27

6.      Souvenirs of past sins

The enemy loves to attach to things that give them legal access to our lives.  Eph. 4:27 Do not give place to the enemy!  Sell gifts and other items that point to illicit relationships or sins in your past.  Those breaking off soul ties MUST carefully adhere to this.  You cannot be free if you still keep photos, expensive gifts or other items as such even for sentimental value only.  This is one of the reasons why those in previously serious relationships struggle!

Other items that are evil should be simply destroyed!  Please note that if you have pornography hidden in your home or are addicted to certain things that are abominable you could be contributing to the defeat in your household and impotence in the church

7.      Wrong priorities

Lack of spiritual investments:  Stop sowing to the flesh and reaping corruption.  Sow to the spirit instead and reap the God kind of life – Zoe! Rom 8:13, Rom 8:2.   We reap what we sow. Gal 6:7

You cannot survive as a Christian if you do not first fight to read your bible and pray regularly.  God is calling men especially at this time to make the Lord their first priority not power money and sex.

Nightingales train their young to sing

Need deliverance

The Lord told His disciples to pray for deliverance from evil Matt 6:13.  Why would He do that is that was not an issue?

God wants us to be really free not almost free! Don’t just be free enough just to attend church once a week.  We need to be free enough to be fruitful and make a difference – free to engage properly in our local churches and with other believers.  God is committed to perfecting His bride and will make a way for you if you are serious about Him.

It is time for believers to stop being like the world.  You may have to sacrifice what you love. Yield to God if you see that He is dealing with you.  Do not make excuses or harden your heart.

Ephesians 5:11 (ESV)

11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Romans 13:12 (ESV)

12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.

1 Thessalonians 5:22 (ESV)

22 Abstain from every form of evil.

Finally understand that your home needs to be united in order to be effective in eradicating even the appearance of evil from your midst. Matt 12:25

Action Plan

Here is the plan of attack – Reveal, Repent, Remove, and Dedicate

Reveal

Go to a place of prayer – perhaps your prayer closet. Ask God to reveal things to you and don’t take anything for granted.  You know it is not right to have spent all this time involved with Christianity with no real victory.  Frankly, it is a red flag when people come into Christ and things in their lives get worse!

Pray with Psalm 139:23-24

You may have to look in unusual places in your home like the arctic. Look at your children’s rooms – what music are they listening to?  I know we say some music is positive but look at the source!  We never had it so bad years ago.  Now there is so much decay because of extreme secularism. Mark for destruction anything that has an evil source even

Yard Salethough it looks harmless on the surface.  Get rid of the Halloween costumes and paraphernalia, Harry Potter movies, demonic comics, novels, posters, anything occultist, mystical, contrary to the dealing of God in the light MUST GO!

Things that are not demonic but should be out of your house you can sell.  Make a list of items to destroy, make a list of items to sell.

Repent

You need to confess and repent of any sins and renounce any illicit vows you made. 1 John 1:9

Remove

Remove anything that is a curse to you. Destroy.  Utterly destroy anything that is demonic in your possession

Dedicate

Rededicate your homes (individual, marriage, children, household, and objects) to God!

Begin the cleansing process – I submit to God for deep cleansing.  The devil will not hinder me.  I ask God to reveal the things that need to be dealt with and helps me to eradicate those things from my life!

Speak with your pastor about follow-ups.  This is not just an article to be read and discarded.  Take action in Jesus name and walk in victory!

God Bless!

Covenant Position

February 17th, 2012 1 comment

I found myself deeply concerned this week about an incident that occurred between me and certain individuals that I do business with.  I felt that I had let my guard down and afforded the individuals the opportunity to gain an upper hand.  If you are like me, you are typically hard on yourself and your own worst critic.  Here I was, concerned and almost beginning to lose confidence in myself.  Yes, I know, my challenges may differ from yours but the truth is that at some stage, we all feel inadequate and unable to prevail in particular circumstances.

What is noteworthy is the fact that we can always study or even talk about the LORD Jesus, His doctrine and principles without getting to effectively apply the proceeds to our lives.  This is why we have such a sharp contrast between what believers say and do in our society today.  Many implicitly believe participation in worship services equals being good Christians.  This is not so. What we believe must also be worked out in our lives.  Whatever we cannot leverage does not really matter.

I too had to practice what I was preaching.  I was teaching about covenant but realized that I myself was not in covenant position.

So what is “Covenant Position”, you ask?  Well, this is a place where you and I get to remain (Stand) In Him as He also remains in us.   In that place, nothing matters but God.  Anyone seeking to reach us will have to first go through God!  By default, our enemies also become enemies of God.  Well, I was exposed to the subject of “covenant position” in the past but now had to go deeper and rebuild my comprehension and ability to execute from the bottom-up.  So let us gain some understanding:

Covenant

Covenant is an oath-bound promise whereby one party solemnly pledges to bless or serve another party in some specified way.  This oath bound promise involves mutual obligations with a commitment to responsibility and action.

We can safely say that the foundation for our Christian faith is based on covenant. Unfortunately, we have lost the real meaning of covenant in the West.

A covenant can either be established between people or between people and God. You can either have two people that love each other like a husband and wife, Ruth and Naomi or David and Jonathan.  One can also have covenant between two people groups.  The other dimension is covenant between people and God.

Here are some key characteristics of Covenant:

Not bounded by time.
Unlike a contract, a covenant is not bounded by time. A covenant typically lasts from generation to generation.  A covenant is in force as long as all parties are alive.

This is why a marriage between a man and a woman is really a covenant and not a contract.

Sadly, many people today say their marriage vows only to divorce shortly afterwards.  As a matter of fact, the institution of marriage has come under severe enemy attack lately and we all have to rise up and fight to preserve it.

Malachi 2:14 (ESV)
14 But you say, “Why does he not?” Because the Lord was witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.

Covenant involves life
A covenant is in force until one or both of the parties involved become unable to fulfill their part of the covenant.  This is typically because of death.  The initiation of covenant involves some form of life to indicate: “till death do us part”.

Covenant is complete trust!
When Jonathan made a covenant with David, he gave David his weapons, shields and belt and joined his soul to David’s in complete trust!  1 Sam 18.  Ruth clung to her mother in law, Naomi in absolute trust and abandon saying: “Where you go I go; where you stay I stay only death will separate us” Ruth 1:16

Covenant is complete sharing
Covenant produces common union where all the parties involved become one!   A married couple become one!  Gen 2:24. The early church shared all things together: food, clothing, and other possessions.  Those who lacked had their needs met.  They had complete unity – Koinonia.  Acts 2:42-46.  Parties in covenant have common friends and common enemies.  Everything is shared!  This is why God forbids us to yoke with those of darkness.  Friendship with the world is enmity with God.  Israel was warned not to covenant with other nations.  That included inter-marriage.  Marriage is covenant and sex is the consummation – the act of covenant.

A vow or oath initiates the covenant.  The corresponding act is what brings implementation or fulfillment. This is why illicit sex (outside marriage) is so sinful.  Sex is an act of covenant.

Covenant is the basis for moving forward in the early church!

The stronger the covenant the greater the negotiations – with families binding through generations

The Exchange
Jonathan and David exchanged and gained common strength, favor, and authority.

When God covenants with us, He gives us His name, authority and might in exchange for our very souls.

He gave Abram a new name – Abraham and He became the God of Abraham!  When we give Him our old lives (condemned to death), He gives us His life which is eternal!

Christ came to cut covenant on our behalf!  He paid the penalties for separating from the Old Covenant and initiated a new covenant through His same death.  He became the propitiator (mercy  seat), then broker (mediator) through which the Father God now sees us:  redeemed and righteous!

When we position ourselves in Christ, we also gain Covenant Position.  This is a worry free place in the presence of God, where righteousness, peace and joy prevails.  So why should I worry? Why should I be afraid?  If God is for me, who can be against me?

It is God’s covenant with us that allows Him to fight for us. Just as He fought for Judah against Ammon, Mt. Seir and Moab in the valley of Jehoshaphat 2 Chr. 20.  So whatever you are facing today, please see that the battle is not yours but the LORD’s!

God will ALWAYS fight for you as long as you remain in covenant in Him.  Time to stop willful sinning!  Why be like a senseless mule that has to be forced everywhere? Psalm 32:9

Get into covenant position!

Really give Him your life and stop trying to manage on our own and then blaming others for the consequences.

You cannot keep trying to claim the benefits of the covenant with God if you fail to fulfill your obligations.  You know God WILL ALWAYS fulfill His side.  What about you?

Give up your weapons – lose the weapon
Give up your anger, self defense mechanisms, woundedness,

Give up your Identity
Give up your mission for His mission

Remember all the people that walked uprightly in God were in Covenant Position.

Say a prayer right now!

We will discuss mechanisms around the cutting of covenant next time and also more techniques for maintaining Covenant Position.

God Bless!

A Word for 2012

Acts 1:20 (ESV)

.. ‘Let another take his office.’

Up in 2012

Up in 2012

From Eleven to Twelve

Throughout scripture and in everyday life, we see so many things ordered by twelve.  Yes, there is always a tendency to move toward numerology and try to fashion meaning from new impulses and sources.   However, I must assure that this is not just cliché but is really from the experience domain and more importantly by Divine inspiration.

We have twelve hours to govern day and twelve hours govern the night. Twenty four elders bow down before the throne of Almighty God; the one who is and is to come.

There are twelve sons of Jacob (Israel) which became the twelve tribes and represent a critical part of the order of God in the Old Testament.

We have twelve Apostles, who represent the governmental order of God in the New Testament.

The Lord Jesus chose twelve men to change the world!  These were the men upon whom the foundation of the Church was laid – in Christ!

We also see that the betrayal of Judas Iscariot caused the reduction in the number of Apostles from twelve to eleven men.  These eleven men were told to wait to receive the promise of the Holy Spirit in order to carry out their function. The apostles saw the ascension of the Lord but we note that it was only until after a replacement (Matthias) was made for the late Judas Iscariot, that the Holy Spirit finally came.  As they were all gathered together on the day of Pentecost, SUDDENLY, the Holy Spirit came and the early church was energized to go forth!

Ordered chaos

For sure times and seasons matter to the purposes of God and we also see that there is nothing complete or ordered about 11 (except that it is a prime number).  Chaos results whenever order is disrupted either though the removal or introduction of a new element from an ordered set.  Yet we see order restored whenever an element is introduced to an unordered set to bring about completion.

We can say that Order precedes blessing and disorder precedes chaos!

What is also amazing is that it seems God leverages the state-change from disorder to order in order to bring about blessings. Think about this!

The betrayal of Christ caused a planned deviation!  It was crucial that the Son of God be betrayed, handed over as a lamb to be slaughtered in order to release the faithfulness of God.  He was to be released to go through transformation that will allow Him to enter a new state.

Prophetic Word

In 2012 we are coming out of transition will wait a little and then come to a SUDDEN release of the blessings of God – This release will provoke another transition, which will carry forth the plans of God and take believers from one level of Glory to another!

I perceive the Holy Spirit is saying that we should expect a mighty rushing wind in 2012!!!

Transition

We also see that it takes transition to move from disorder (unordered state) to order.  Now, the activity of transition causes things to shift, contradictions occur, scales are tipped, resulting in sometimes severe testing and trials.

The Nation of Israel went through transition from being released from slavery to entering the Promised Land!  God, who foresaw the contradictions, took them through the longer route of the Red Sea by Mt. Sinai instead of simply through the land of the Philistines. Exodus 13:17-18

Through the experience of the Israelites we learnt the results of disobedience and obedience.  The disobedient ones perished in the desert and did not make it to the Promised Land.  We have to learn from this is realize that we too are allowed to go through transition but must be obedient, patiently endure the hardships and pass the tests as we move through to the next level God is bring us to.

There can be no inertia only action as we move through the transition zone.  In practical terms, only active obedient and consistent faith can carry us through.

The force (propulsion)

God delivered the Israelites out of Egypt with a mighty hand!  It took the sacrifice of the first born Egyptians to bring about their release from slavery!

God delivered all of humanity with a mighty hand!  It took the death of His only eternal Son to deliver us from eternal death and give us eternal life. The church was released into mission with the powerful release of the Holy Spirit!

Yes, it takes much power to bring about a miracle.  God has determined that those who would be beneficiaries only have to respond in faith and obedience (as the necessary corresponding actions) to tunnel through to the place of blessing.

God does the heavy lifting; all we have to do is receive in obedient faith.  Zech. 4:6.

Key items for 2012

  1. Expect God to propel you through a major miracle in 2012
  2. Do not run on “E” in 2012! Avoid areas of chaos (disobedience, misalignment etc.) as this will stall you and prevent you from coming through transition successfully.  Don’t rely on physical calibrations. Don’t procrastinate.  Psalm 119:60
  3. Put God First! After God brings order, the first thing is to give Him the first of everything.  See Exodus 12:50-13:3, 13:11-16, Proverbs 3:5-10, Matt 6:33
  4. Keep sowing (investing).  God will have you prepare jars of Oil that will allow you to become debt free and walk in increase in all your ways.
  5. Make plans to grow spiritually in 2012.  Things are changing rapidly.  Don’t wait until you can no longer respond effectively to spiritual things.  Use your faith or lose it!

Lord we pray against spiritual lethargy that we will have the desire and thrust to push through to our Promised Land without being weighed down by the struggles of the prior year(s).

Our Time is NOW!

April 20th, 2011 No comments

God is moving by His Spirit.  We have set ourselves aside for forty days of fasting and prayer and are truly on the verge of a major breakthrough.

Many of us are in a position now where we have no choice but to move forward.  When the Israelites were confronted by the Red Sea and pursued by the Egyptians from the rear, they realized that they could not go back easily and felt it was impossible to proceed forward.  Yet the Lord spoke to Moses to tell the Israelites to move forward towards the sea.

Likewise, despite the seemingly impossible circumstances we face, many of us have resolved: there is no going back to where we have been held captive.  No going back to Egypt.   We will not fear, we will not recoil we will see the salvation of the Lord as we move forward!

Our time of weeping and sowing is transitioning to harvest and joy.  The years of bondage are over!  It is time to align with the word of the Lord for our next phase.  We are going to the Promised Land.

Psalm 126:1–6 (ESV)
1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.
2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations,  “The Lord has done great things for them.”
3 The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.
4 Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb!
5 Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!
6 He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

Only God can restore our fortunes.  We are going to fully trust the Lord and completely surrender to Him.  Why resist?  He always fulfills His promises.  He is all powerful; He is God Almighty!

God will restore the years the locusts and the worms have eaten.  Let us take heart and be encouraged as we enter His new season.

Let us stay consecrated, strong and courageous!  The Lord is about to do great things in our midst. Josh 1:9, Josh 3:5

We will also proceed in unity with one voice conquering our enemies as we make progress through the Promised Land.

Let’s move!  Our Time is NOW!
