‘In him we live and move and have our being’ Acts 17:28 (ESV)

Paul the apostle declared in his address to the Areopagus (Athenian Council) that our God does not in fact dwell in earthly temples like other false gods but He has chosen to dwell in us and us in Him!  All of us who profess Christ should take some time to see how we are located.  Are we really in Him?  We say we are!?

Sometimes I wonder if we really believe this or this is one of the things we simply accept as taught in our pulpits.  How come we many times fail to consistently exhibit the characteristics of the one who has regenerated and reconciled us back to himself?

God sacrificed his very self to rescue us from the domain of darkness and transfer us to the kingdom of His Son – Jesus the Christ.  Col 1:13.  Through the infallible word of God, we also learn that this kingdom is righteousness, peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit! Rom 14:17 Now what?

The Spirit of the Lord is challenging us to take a closer look at our lives.  Do we perpetually walk in the righteousness of the Lord; have incomprehensible peace and the joy of the Lord?  I confess not! Why not?  I am challenged to not just regurgitate and motion what seems appropriate but to truly and comprehensively emanate these core provisions of the Holy Spirit from the very depths of my being! What about you?

It is this type of thrust that produces hunger for more of God from within us.  We do not operate or posture for the consumption of others but become desperate for the things of God like never before.  This is not just for cerebral edification but for transformation of the total being.  This transformation begins in our inner man, and extends through the soul to our veiled flesh.

These are the last days!  We must become really desperate for God.  The times we live in are almost like the days of old when the word of the Lord was rare.  I agree there is a lot of prophetic agitation but do not believe that will suffice.  We have become numb and over saturated with information and have implemented methodologies that refuse to inspire broad change.  We must exhort each another concerning the fact that we cannot really thrive in God’s kingdom without the author of salvation Himself.  After all, the Lord has said: “Apart from me you can do nothing”.  Why then do we bother to try?

Okay, what we need is a cry of desperation!  This is the time to really live the life God has afforded us!  This is when we issue a deep cry to the Lord from the very depths of our being for deliverance from the deceitful draws of the enemy with erroneous reasoning and severance from the strongholds that have immobilized us from thriving in the elevated domain God has called us to.

Life in God should be exciting! – Full of blissful Joy, Peace and Righteousness.

These three things come from the very presence of God.

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.  Psalm 16:11 (ESV)

God continues to reach out to His people – with open arms.  He is asking us to come up higher into the place of elevation He has called us to.  Let us respond as we should – with open hearts.
